Medline’s MED-GEL offers a gelling agent for use in solidifying blood and other body liquids and excretions. Pre-gelling facilitates safe handling by reducing the risk of cross infection when disposing of infectious fluid waste.
MED-GEL provides a quick and convenient solution to spillage and lowers disposal costs. This solidifying agent is available in two formats:
15-g individual dose
2-kg bulk design.
The individual dose of 15 g is a soluble bag that can be easily inserted into a disposable suction system during a suction procedure. The soluble bag will dissolve once in contact with fluids. The individual dose of 15 g jellifies up to 1 litre of fluids (depending on the fluid composition).
Meanwhile, the bulk packaging of 2 kg comes with a small measuring cup to facilitate the appropriate dosage of powder. The powder starts the solidification process once in contact with the fluid. MED-GEL can be used with all forms and sizes of suction canisters.
